You
are a vital part of VWC
It
may appear as though there are two levels at camp: those who teach,
and those who don't. We are all teachers, and we are all students,
we are all priests and we are all priestesses at camp.
Please bring your most sacred self and come prepared to share your
own truths and wisdom with others at camp!
Optional Offerings
Afternoons at
camp bring all sorts of fun: swimming in the crystal clear waters,
naps in cabins, time for artwork, reflection and, "Optional
Offerings." These are shorter workshops (an hour or two) offered
in addition to path work. They may be lead by teachers or
by YOU. Previous offerings have included tai-chi, drumming
workshops, herbal walks, singing, tarot, chanting, healing
the variety is limited only by the many talents that are at camp,
and by who steps forward in service. There is plenty of opportunity
to get the word out at camp, so don't worry about getting information
prior to camp!
Camp-Wide Altars
We ask everyone
to plan ahead for building community altars be it in your
cabin, in a site in the woods, down by the lake, or in front of
the dining hall. Our intention is to have sacred sites across the
camp.
A large rock,
a tree stump, the ground...all of these make perfect altars, and
Farm and Wilderness has an abundance
of them! Remembering that an altar is a place where you work magic,
commune with Deity, and have a quiet contemplative moment, or just
ground and center to re-energize after a hectic day imagine
these springing up across camp! Don't be intimidated by the idea
of getting it perfect no one is grading!
The setting up
of an altar may or may not be important to you; if it is important,
do it. If not, maybe you will want to spend time with one that others
have created. Perhaps you want to create it individually; or maybe
you'll want to work with friends you are coming with; possibly it's
something that you'll want to do with fellow path walkers or affinity
group members. If this is something that you feel called to, please
be dreaming of what you can bring to this land and community.
One caveat: this
is a pack in, pack out creation. Please, if you are creating an
altar, remember to devoke it and take your items home, or dispose
of in a most sacred, recycling manner!
Produce
from your garden ... (or
at least some of it)
VWC organizers
are facilitating the inclusion of more organic and locally grown
food. This year we invite members of our community to share the
bounty of their home gardens with us. Plant an extra row for camp
this year! Let
us know what you plan to bring...
